The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – Central New York Chapter respectfully asks for your support of our upcoming GREAT STRIDES events, taking place from the end of April until the beginning of June. This year, our chapter intends to raise over $325,000 for life-saving cystic fibrosis (CF) research and therapeutics development across 9 walk sites in Ithaca, Utica, Auburn, Ogdensburg, Oswego, Sidney, Syracuse, Watertown, and Binghamton.
Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). In the 1950s, few children with cystic fibrosis lived to attend elementary school. Today, advances in research and medical treatments have further enhanced and extended life for children and adults with CF. Many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30s, 40s and beyond.
You can help us reach our chapter’s fundraising goal by participating in a Great Strides walk near you. Register online today at www.cff.org/great_strides and you'll have the opportunity to use our interactive fundraising tools. You also can invite walkers to join your team, request online donations, and check your fundraising status.
